This is the first time I've made something with a hypothetical potentially international market in mind. I haven't managed to talk myself out of a shop on Etsy yet, so I thought I should make some things which are geared to a northern hemisphere summer. Light blue cotton drill, teal piping, and teal and green stencilling with a seaside theme - laying on "summer" with a trowel!
Which on this grey dreary uninspiring autumn day makes me long for the long hot days of summer. (Yes Dunedin does so get those!)
Ooo, I like that stencilling (I can't figure out how to spell "stencilling").
ReplyDeleteAnd no, Dunedin does NOT get hot. You are living in a dreamworld, girlie.
I can never figure out how to spell stencilling either, but this looks ok to me. And it does so get hot here - I've lived in Dunedin for 40 years and there have been AT LEAST half a dozen hot days in that time!
ReplyDeleteI love it and you should really get the etsy shop, it'd be great!! xxx
ReplyDeleteHey, Dunedin isn't that bad. In the 24 plus years I've been here I distinctly remember complaining about the heat several times. I'd even be willing to punt for a dozen!
ReplyDeletePretty dress! Did you do all the stencilling (or stenciling, either is right according to yourdictionary.com) yourself? 'Cos I looked at that and thought how lucky you were to get a co-ordinating fabric!
I particularly like the zigzag stitching down the back. That's what I've been thinking of doing down the back of the purple coat when/if it ever gets made.
ADORABLE!! The stencils are the most perfect touch. (and I'm wimping out on the spelling)
ReplyDeleteBut I'm with beangirl. You want hot - come to Texas. Our high today is 90(F), and 91 tomorrow, and it ain't even summer yet.
Very pretty jumper! I really like the piping and the zig-zag on the back
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty dress! I love all your details
